Life’s pain
Today my reading says life, even in suffering and temptation is a gift, and we are in the good hands of our Maker. Easy to believe when things are easy; tough when they are tough. Check the first three verses of Psalms; “I called to you for help, and you healed me.”

New Song Birth
Mark the calendar for the birth of a hit song. We were just shooting bull on the way, when Will mentioned someone who said “there was something between him and the devil.” He meant it like he and the devil were “buddies”. You will hear ‘the rest of the story’ in a song.

Godstory Munford Redo
What happens when you go back to a place where miracles happened? God piles on, and whips up a few more. This time we caught it on four video cameras. I hope the miraculous can be experienced in images.

Hummingbird
God set it up for sure. Humming-Bob even knows Thunder. He understands the very heart of music as a way into souls for redemptive work. How will it all meld into structure, plans and projects? God knows ..., yes God knows.

Delivery Vehicle
Three times in one week – pay attention! I missed last Sunday’s sermon, so my pastor printed it out for me and handed it to me. It’s the same message for the third time this week. The story is found in Luke 8:26-39: snakes and eagles at war.

Redemption
Today I claimed some property at a pawn shop (long story) for the first time. These are not pleasant places, as they traffic in human misery. The word on top of the receipt hit me hard; REDEMPTION! What happens at this pawn counter is counterfeit redemption.

Redeemed possessions
Cash for stuff in desperation
I was redeemed too

The Old Dog
She is seventeen now, and moving slowly. Our job is keeping her comfortable. It’s an honor to do it, considering all the comfort she has given to us. She still pees and poops to piss us off. We live in a dysfunctional world, family and dog-house-hold.

Heaven help us now
Why would we adopt such a mutt?
And why would God us…

Full Circle
Nearly three years ago, I met Aaron, and was introduced to Stan, who introduced me to Rocky and Colin. Today Stan Rocky and I will meet, connect, recap and project. Life is more than a journey; it is an ascending spiral helix. When you go around each orbit, you have risen to see more.

So what is the plan?
What can be seen today first time?
Where are my glasses?

Boiling Point
Water is calm under heat, until 212 F. It seems that the spiritual temperature around me is about 210. This thing is going to boil soon. A viral energy explosion looms near in the spiritual realm. The power of many persons connecting with true clarity of God’s story hidden within their lives will light up humanity.

Sweet Manifesto
Leonard puts it down hard right here, and comes right to the point. Contagious faith happens only when accompanied by Jesus our best friend. Christ does not ask us to be like him; he says “follow me”. There is infinite distance between knowing about Jesus, and knowing him. The crisis of Christianity is exactly there.

Deliverance
…Deliver us from evil. The most prayed prayer contains it, but we have memorized it so we blow right through it. I would like to think I can just avoid evil, but the truth is that I must be delivered from it. Two worlds compete for us; dark deceives while light attracts. My guard down, I read today’s devotional in Luke 8:26-39 to inhale the reality of the stench of evil, and power of freedom DELIVERED.

Feeding sheep
Jesus says “if you love me, feed my sheep.” Well there it is. I joined 250 others to do that. In 90 minutes we packaged 45,300 dehydrated meals for 25 cents each - …a good start toward 200,000 meals today. www.stophungernow.org

Best Day of Life
My friend Jim took grandson Luke fishing. Big catfish on! … and another and many more. The boy caught his weight in fish and told Poppy “this is the best day of my life.” And so it was for both of them.

He sits down on the piano stool and starts to tell a story. The story morphs to a new form as lyrics ride as song atop notes and keys. The story now goes deep and silent as lyrics cease and the instrument goes solo into our souls.

Wilderness Where?
Elijah went to the desert to die. Angels tended; he renewed; hiked 40 days; then stood on the mount to wait for God. Violent winds, earthquake, then fire - but no God. Then in a gentle whisper, God shows and tells. So where do I go to die and listen; and you? Norway July 27, 2007.

Setting Captives Free
Spiritual war is about freedom versus bondage. The stakes are high; the heat intense. You cannot fight in this battle unless you have been wounded and healed. Released captives make the best freedom fighters. It is hard to know you were in captivity until you get free, and see the cage.

To what degree can we “make believe”, pray tell? Consider carefully the idea of “make believe”. And what is it about “pray tell” that causes me to want to linger there for a while. How much of what is yet to happen is yet to be imagined? I guess the only way each of us will know is to try it, risk, and believe it can.

Consider the downside

Good Grief George!
Yes grief is good, when it is found in the place that stores and protects my blueprint. Like spiritual DNA that spirals downward, the well of grief takes us where we can see the original blueprint design for our life, and how have departed from the perfect plan. Upon this original blueprint we can build, and rebuild toward spec. Back to you at http://www.georgelandolt.com/

Troubled kids
We have saved some money each month for them for years, and we decided it was time to give it to them. One was thankless, and the other lied. Instead of sending the money, we sent truthful notes of concern. Both have since responded, so we sent the money.

Big & Little Buffs
George and I are both Vietnam-era bomber pilots; Air Force and Navy. We share experiences and faith, but we are wired differently. He called me from Yellowstone in awe of nature’s splendor – and the Architect. Observing the geysers and bubbling pots, he declared it to be “where inside meets outside”. Profound!

Unwise prayers
Give thanks to God for unwise prayers unanswered. I’ll bet a lot of mine have been unwise. And how about thanks for unwelcome new things that cause me to stretch and grow. And then there are all those bad things that did not happen.

Be careful to pray

We are all in this together; especially those unlike me. I think I like most those most like me. That is easy. I am called to love those who are unlike me. That is hard.

Bari was introduced to him because someone knew they would connect. They did. She has set a lunch to introduce me to Bob because she knows we will connect. We will. The deep raw power of music, imagery, lyrics and story converge to become an integrated expression of love.

Fresh Faith
Faith is like oysters; it needs to be fresh and raw to be at its best. Fresh faith radiates joy from a life connected to what God is up to in the moment. When God is in the moment, best let the moment speak for itself. Joy only has a present tense; it won’t postpone. Don’t try to save it.

Paul claims that what he was taught did not come from man, but was revealed by God. He experienced a radical transformation born of mysteries revealed through eyes that could see, and ears that could hear. So what is it that has been revealed to me by God alone? And you?

Love Wounds
Newly single after a few months of marriage. This book ended on chapter one. Storybook romance can deceive. Prince Charming brought a load of pain that prevented the union that God intended. Good friends and a great God are the Rx. Friendships thwarted; God waits for the brokenness to do its work.

It would seem unlikely to meet men headed to the same area for the same purpose in the same time window; especially when it is ten thousand miles away. I see it as God working up a plan for us. The spiritual purposes of our trips will converge somehow - I know it!

Panhandle friends
Party at the swamp! Low country boil with lots of shrimp and mud bugs and suds. Chef Bill cooks and writes oyster love poems. Andy flies low, quiet and leaves a boom. John&Ruth host; Juddy visits; Ken fishes. Coach invests in young lives and makes tracks to Tanzania. Ken Phil & Courtney are a UMM AAA team. Reggie plus son and one sauntered into Hunts Oyster Bar one day hungry. They polished off 15 dozen… EACH! Commander Jessica, please annex Hunts and name it O’ Mess Hall.
