BBQ & Blues & Story
Memphis bound we four soon roll. We plan to share stories and secrets, hoping to start something that cannot be stopped. Imagine God communities going viral in God-bragging amazement – white hot with power. Imagine each and all as stories presently written, editing tomorrow’s script. Imagine life-blood flowing in swollen rivers, too much for us or the banks to hold.

The chosen team assembles
About as qualified as twelve Jesus picked
Pour it on us Lord

God Mime

Mimes don’t talk; they act and emote. Here’s a challenge for Christians; God miming. No God talk at all. It’s all about what you do for others, and what you project to others. Remember three C’s; the Character (acts) and Countenance (radiance) of Christ. What if Christians made the month of June a God-talk fast? What if all we could do were to act and radiate God, as our living witness?

Too much God blather
Dry desert of love unconditional
Silent authenticity

Call in Firepower
Surrogate son one is endangered. Schizophrenia lies to his soul. At eighteen, he chooses care or the street when released today. I told him he must trust the four who love him over and against the voices within. What a crap choice – to believe your own mind or trust others! I have not walked the road he travels, but it must be scary and lonely indeed. Lord, bring Psalm 23 to the boy in full measure! He walks through the valley of the shadow of death and he FEARS evil.

Demons disease rebellion
Mighty God send rod and staff
Save him from the cliff

Named Legacy
Just last Saturday my dad sat watching our legacy play soccer. Pop struggled to remember why we were there, and who was playing. I was there watching my father, son, and only blood grandson. My son pointed out the boy is the only possible carrier of our name. It came to me that we three have given him a gift of 125 years in our three marriages; 65+42+18. What a treasure! Four generations blessed and connected.

Deep roots anchor love

Time Whining
Not enough time? Equal time? Time deficit disorder? There are a few things God was extra equitable with like air, gravity and time. Twenty four hours in every day times the number of days I am allotted. I may think I know how many are coming ahead, but I certainly know only those I have had. On the basis of a hoped-for eighty years of robust life, I am 79% done! Runway behind a pilot is gone; look ahead for lift-off. If there is a time for me to hit afterburners, it is certainly NOW! I do not want to crash with any fuel left onboard.

Moments matter most
Get ‘em while they’re hot or not
Catch fresh or lose big

Heavy Load
The other surrogate son has some serious issues, and we are very concerned. He visited last weekend, and a bomb snuck out of his secret locker. More than two years ago, he witnessed his sister’s boyfriend shoot and kill his sister’s girlfriend on their front porch. He revealed that he feels guilt for not preventing the murder. Childhood is not supposed to burn such memories into our soul. He calls me Mr. Larry, and I call him D1 son.

It’s not your fault
It’s NOT your fault really
It’s not your fault

Three M’s for her initials - MMM for mmm, mmm good! Maddie, you are loved by Papa and Mimi. I see theatre and drama in your every move. You are on stage, 24/7. You have some theatre genes – some come from my mom and great grandpa Callahan. See you soon!
